in the last week and a half, i have bought a BOOKSPLOSION. china mieville's iron council and perdido street station, ladyjaida and danibennet's havemercy, scott lynch's red seas and red sails (finally, my god), the latter part of flights: extreme visions of fantasy, a few writing books i've been meaning to get to, some wild cards books i picked up for five dollars ...
AND, DEAR FLIST, THIS IS NOT COUNTING THE TWO DOZEN BOOKS I HAVE WAITING ALREADY.
so i believe i will start with iron council, lighten the tone with red seas, move onto havemercy, and muddle my way through the rest, god help me. is jonathan strange & mr norrell as good as i've heard? i just glanced at my "FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY READ ME" pile and noticed it. and a stack of fables comics. and siddhartha. and the white goddess. and ender's game. and ... i should really stop.
the tragedy of it all is that i've recently discovered civilization IV, and i CAN'T. STOP. PLAYING. so ridiculously addictive, dear flist, you have no idea. unless you've played, in which case, you, um, do. i have the best luck as catherine the great for some reason, but i'm in the middle of one with gengis khan (i play marathon length and end up having to leave midway, shut up) that's going pretty well.
BESIDES THAT: HOW ARE YOU ALL? HOW'S LIFE?
